Systematic Reviews (SR) Programme
Evidence Synthesis (ES) Programme
The Evidence Synthesis Programme (formally the Systematic Reviews Programme) funds research that identifies, evaluates, combines and summarises information from a range of sources to provide decision makers with the best possible information about the effects of tests, treatments and other interventions used in health and social care.
We support the production of evidence synthesis through two funding streams:
- The NIHR Evidence Synthesis Programme Grant Scheme aims to produce high quality systematic reviews that are of direct benefit to users of the NHS in England. This call runs every three years.
- The NIHR Incentive Awards are available to Cochrane Review Groups and Campbell Collaboration Coordinating Groups to facilitate, and possibly accelerate activity that is already planned or under way. This call runs annually.
For those producing systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, we also offer the following:
- Specialist advice and expertise through our Complex Reviews Support Unit.
- NIHR Cochrane Review gold open access scheme which enables open access to the review from the date of publication.
